Computing Devices

Computing devices are those components which combine multiple input data to one or multiple new output data. The output data is thereby depending on the input data.

In classical CMOS, the fundamental computing device is the metal-oxide field-effect transistor (MOSFET) that becomes conductive depending on the input voltage at its insulated gate electrode.

Interconnects between computing devices are made by communication elements. States of the data can also be preserved in a memory device.
